She knew we were first-time buyers (and shoppers), and treated us with respect, explaining her reasoning for things, and helping us connect to the local community. We have neither friends nor family here, so we don't have recommendations from anyone else. Having someone be our "friend" and "neighbor" (in a sense) meant that we were engaging with local businesses (inspectors, etc.) who do excellent work. I felt cared for and like Maria was our connection to the community.
